What I like about the video here is that he took it high art and made a performance art film rather than your standard music video. Directed by Mark Romenek and filmed live at New York’s Pace Gallery, Jay Z truely turned this single into a work of art by creating a six hour long performance piece. The video itself contains other A-list artists, critics, actors and the such all gathering for Marina Abramovics “The Artist is Present”.
I have not gone through the entire Magna Carta album yet, but so far what I have heard – I must say I am not all that impressed both with the beats and the content, but than again label me a “hater”. Not. My pure perception still yet to unfold and will get my hands on a copy soon. Nonetheless, this video will set new standards in making music videos, especially in the hip hop scene.
