There is a lot I am involved in and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my personal ambitions and on how so many of my activities revolve around being an entrepreneur and being involved in business(es) in any way, shape or form. This goes from my managerial position with Hewlett-Packard to the companies I’ve started in the past to my current endeavors and in my thoughts and my attempts of figuring out why entrepreneurship is such an integral part of who I am, I realized that there’s one aspect of being an entrepreneur that greatly appeals to me: the sky is the limit.

I believe that in business (and as an entrepreneur) that everything is possible and we are only driven by our own passion, ideas, hard work & ambition. I tell my team this on a near day-to-day basis, that in order to succeed you need to have the mindset of an entrepreneur. It continues to baffle me how some people believe that they can achieve greatness without delving into their current tasks without passion and hard work. Given my history and being at a large corporation is no different to me than starting my own company. One needs the mindset of the hungry entrepreneur. You need to differentiate yourself from the masses by creating a micro start-up environment within your work environment. Your day to day tasks need to be challenged through your ideas and ambition to succeed and as such, improve your work surroundings with the eventual change spreading across other teams, organizations, etc. Stumbling blocks or supposed limitations are only challenges that entrepreneurs need to face (and find creative solutions for) along the way. The same needs to go for individual contributors and managers in large corporations.

This appeals to me, because I’m a naturally ambitious person who doesn’t like to be put in a box. I simply love the fact that I’m able to have this never-ending journey from project to project, business to business.

The sky is the limit.
