This Cookie Policy is part of the Legal Notice and Privacy Policy of hermannk.com, operated by KLG (King Lion Group). It explains what cookies are, which ones this site uses, and how you can control them. It complies with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser or device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember things about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you’re logged in, and help the site work properly. Similar technologies (like pixels or local storage) can do comparable things, and where this policy says “cookies” it covers those too.

Your consent

When you first visit the site, you’re shown a cookie banner. Cookies that aren’t strictly necessary are only used if you agree to them. You can accept all, reject non-essential ones, or choose by category. Browsing the site does not by itself count as consent.

You can change your mind at any time. Use the “Cookie settings” link on the site to reopen the banner and update or withdraw your consent. Strictly necessary cookies don’t require consent, because the site can’t function without them.

The types of cookies we use

We keep this deliberately light. In practice the site uses:

Strictly necessary cookies. Needed for the site to work — for example, to keep it secure, remember items during checkout, or keep you logged in if you have an account. As a WordPress site, some of these are set automatically (such as session and login cookies, and a cookie that remembers your name if you leave a blog comment). These are exempt from consent under the LSSI because they deliver a service you’ve requested.

Preference cookies. Remember choices you make, such as settings that personalise your experience. Used only where relevant.

Analytics cookies. We use Burst Statistics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that runs on our own domain (first-party) and is configured to be as privacy-respecting as possible, operating without tracking cookies where it can. It gives us aggregate, anonymised information — which pages are popular, roughly how visitors arrive — and is not used to build advertising profiles about you.

What we don’t use: we do not run behavioural advertising cookies, ad-network trackers, or cross-site profiling on this site.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by third parties rather than by us:

  • Purchases. When you buy a product, checkout happens on a third-party platform (such as Gumroad), which sets its own cookies under its own policy once you’re on its pages.
  • Embedded content. If a page includes embedded content (for example, a video or a map), that provider may set cookies. Where this involves non-essential cookies, it’s covered by your consent choices.

Because the exact set of cookies can change as tools are updated, the current, detailed list — names, providers, and durations — is shown and kept up to date in the cookie banner itself.

How to manage cookies in your browser

Beyond our banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings:

  • Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome (search “cookies”)
  • Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org (search “cookies”)
  • Apple Safari: support.apple.com (search “manage cookies”)
  • Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com (search “cookies”)
  • Opera: help.opera.com

For general guidance you can also visit allaboutcookies.org. Note that if you block or delete cookies, some parts of the site may not work as expected.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be reflected in an updated cookie banner.
