I got home today after another typical day (busy as usual) in the office, went to the supermarket and came home. Upon arrival I went straight to the kitchen and one thing I do love doing which consumes at least 30min up to an hour on average is cooking a good meal.

Cooking allows me to simply get away from my thoughts and helps free my mind. It is utterly vital to get away from any routine, anything we are confronted with for so long during the period of a day and for most of us this simply is our daily job. I have a lot of things that give me that feeling of freedom, boundless and engaged. Sports, reading, writing, music, cooking, chat with friends or family just to name a few, yet in these past hours the question that actually poses is, how free are we? I do not want to get into this philosophical mish-mash and argue any points from A to Z, I simply want to question my current state of being in terms of boundaries.

According the the dictionary the word boundary refers to “something that indicates the farthest limit, as of an area; border.” Although having already seen it several years ago, I watched Seven Pounds tonight on DVD and the question that occurred to me is; what are my boundaries? Would I be able to do what Will Smith does in Seven Pounds? Even aside from that extreme, what if I simply laid everything down from where I currently stand and lived boundless?Aside from the fact that monetary currency is a necessity for urban survival, what values are more important to me?

I understand if at this point you, as the reader are thinking to yourself – strange topic, weird gibberish, freedom is a huge topic of discussion, etc. however I simply want to spur that twitch of thought within. Sit down, take a moment and look where you stand in life. Yes, we are all enjoying it and (count me in) living it the the fullest, or Id rather hope so, but do we actually have that boundless freedom to fulfill our deepest inner desires like taking a run here without having to worry about bills? (I know that sparked a smile or a shake of the head).

Either way, give it a thought. What do you consider freedom – living each day to the max? Do you really do that?

Keep rocking!
