I have been asked several times what the purpose of hallaro.com is and why I (”I” being the person speaking to me) should use it!? In this post I’d like to go into detail of why one could, possibly even should, use hallaro MP3.
The primary question that we often get asked by people is why should I use hallaro if I have a ton of other services from which I can acquire my music from. Well, the primary purpose of us creating hallaro wasn’t to provide another download service (with our affiliate amazon) in order to purchase music (yes, you can shop in the amazon store) yet rather to focus on a playlist feature. Often times I found myself in the dilemma that I had my playlist on my native PC/notebook (Winamp, iTunes, etc.) and although my iPod comes with me whereever I go, it isn’t always synced and up to date with my playlist, aside from the fact that I dont always have my notebook with me, I simply told myself I need a solution to be able to login from anywhere and listen to my playlist and even see some recent news on my favorite artists and thats where hallaro comes in. Yes I do know that there are great services like play.fm yet I simply wanted something simple. Type in the song or artist name, click search, preview the song, and add it to my playlist and thats it! Then hallaro MP3 was born. Allow me to give you a little insight of hallaro can do and what we plan to do with it.
Below is a view of the homepage as a guest. As a guest you are able to search for your favorite artists and songs as well as lyrics by using the search field.
As your typing (in this case) Rihanna, the search box provides an auto suggestion drop down menu to simplfy your artist search.
The results page is easy to navigate. On the left hand side the artist and the songs are listed along with information concerning playtime and functionality. We have also implemented a rating system which allows you to rate each individual song whether you are logged in or on the site as a guest. The more often a song is rated the higher it will be displayed in future searches on the results page. To the right of that we have the preview button allowing you to listen to you song either directly on the results page (play button) or by clicking “listen” and previewing it in a popup window while continuing to navigate the site. The next column is only relevant if you are logged in. The “add” feature now allows you to add this particular song to your playlist. The last column then offers a few options; Download – allowing you to download the song directly from our affiliate amazon.com, Embed – embed this specific song in or on any website/profile, More Info – which will display the player, the rating system, the embed code,a comments section allowing you to leave your comments, as well as the latest photos and news clips concerning the artist yousearched for.
Now to our registered features. Registering is very simple and free. Simply choose a username, password and enter your email and your good to go. After having logged in, you are navigated to the main users page displaying recent news, account settings, etc. Now that you are logged in you are able to start adding songs to your playlist. Simply search hallaro for your favorite song and on the results page click “add” (see above) to automatically add the given song to your playlist.
You can then navigate to your playlist and start listening to your songs directly in your browser or if you prefer to log out simply click “open playlist in new window” to open it in a mini window so that you can log out of hallaro again. On the playlist page you can also find your personal embed code allowing you to embed your playlist on your website, blog or social network site like myspace and facebook. Underneath that you will find the songs you have added to your playlist. You can add as many songs as you like, order them however you prefer or delete songs you no longer want. Your playlist will automatically be updated!
Thats a quick and simple overview of hallaro. We plan to continue improving the system for example by adding ajax features to the ordering of the songs. So sign up and give hallaro a try!
