This year Renata and I decided not to travel anywhere for Christmas. For the bigger occasions and periods where we have a few days off we enjoy spending time with family and friends, hence have traveled most of the holidays these past years. This year we stayed home for the holiday season also considering that now we have our second Beagle Yara and together decided we want to avoid the holiday stress traveling with two dogs.

At some point shortly before Christmas we sat down to discuss our plans and map them out. We were invited to spend Christmas eve with some wonderful friends, which we did end up doing. Nonetheless while mapping out our plans, we wanted to something meaningful. In note of that she recently shared a story with me that inspired me to build STORY. A platform for others to share inspiration. At the same time we passed review to a few of the things we had done for our non-profit this year, Verendus. All in all not enough and since we were not around family we wanted to be family for others. We decided after our time with close friends we would reach out to others.

Having done our grocery shopping, on the 24th the pans and pots began heating up. We made chicken with rice and vegetables, added a small snack and among other things began filling up our plastic trays to transport them. Early evening, we arrived at our hosts home and spent a lovely evening with close friends enjoying a wonderful and international Christmas dinner, something we are truly thankful for. At 23:00 we packed up and hit the road. We walked up and down the streets of some neighborhoods of Barcelona, primarily ending up in the lobby of banks where most homeless seek shelter for the night. Until 03:00 am we handed out food and had some interesting conversations with the likes of Pierre, Vladamir, Louis, Jose, and more. It continues to baffle me on the backgrounds some of these folks have had.

We plan to continue doing food drives through-out 2014. If your interested in participating, hit me up.

Be thankful for what we have. Hustle hard.
