How Bad You Want Success II

How Bad You Want Success II

I recently read an interesting sentence along the lines of “the day we were born is the day we started dying.” Think about it. It is a strong and strange statement, however it does put things into perspective. Call me extreme, but I fully agree with ET the Hip Hop Preacher around my last post “How Bad You Want Success.” (who by the way approved of it).

I like the topic of success and striving for something because it really differentiates the masses.

You really want something, great, I really want a lamborghini, a private island in the caribbean, and a fully functioning Batman suit. Looking at this we take similarities in both wanting to succeed and about want we want, yet what differentiates us is in taking action. Any goal is possible, no matter what you set out to do, but every goal requires a s*** ton of work and if you sat down this very instance and said to yourself that you are willing to sacrifice something else in order to achieve your ultimate goal, than my friend we are on the same page.

Time is Confined.

Back to my first sentence – you are going to die. The average human lives around 80 years, give or take a few. This translates into 2.5 billion seconds (2524556160 seconds to be exact). As much as I hated math in school and college, I still love the purity of numbers themselves. When you put things into numbers especially these then it makes you realize how scarce our time is. Our clocks are ticking and the countdown is not infinite. Every moment, every grasp of breathe is another second shaved off those precious 2.5 billion.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not being depressing here - I’m simply stating the facts to make us all realize that in order to achieve, in order to live a legacy and a fulfilling life, we must act now! It fascinates me how some people act as if they have eons to come. Their actions are not an issue because their dreams can be fulfilled tomorrow. It can wait one more day.

The key to success is simple and I speak from experience – PERSEVERANCE.

Ask my family and closets friends around some of the accomplishments I have achieved and had I stuck to a few more, how much greater these could have been. It doesnt matter whether your building a toned body, building a business or wanting to succeed at work. The key ingredient is perseverance.

I am currently building a new business and part of this business is a new brand. I have diligently been working on this for over half a year and I speak for myself when I say there are days when I simply do not want to do anything. I think to myself, “what is the meaning behind this?”, “will it succeed?”, “is this what I truly want?”

I need to persevere. I need to believe. I need to stick to this like a magnet sticks to metal. I need to do this every day over and over again. The reason for failure is not a lack of knowledge, resources, or even a lack of quality. Failure almost exclusively hangs on limited or diminishing motivation.

If you think you have time, then you’re in for a rude awakening.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed.

In my previous post the young man wants success and the guru tells him that in order to succeed you need to want it as much as you want to breathe. Be cautious of procrastination. I am guilty of it above and beyond and have learned throughout the past years to abolish and hold in check my thoughts of procrastinating.

“Oh, I’ll just start tomorrow.”

Really? Sooner or later you’re going to run out of those “tommorows.”

When we’re younger – in our 20’s and 30’s – we fall into the routine of saying, “I’ll get it done tomorrow.” It’s not until we’re a bit older that our mortality is finally realized. By then we can’t do everything we wanted to do or accomplish when we were younger.

Stop delaying your goals and dreams.

Why do you keep delaying your goals?

Start now. I can 100% guarantee that you’re not going to regret it.

Setting your goals like a mortal

Remember, you’re not an immortal. If you want success, set big goals and set milestones in between. Reach high and set the bar even higher, but not to the point that your goals become unrealistic to achieve. Its going to take hard work and dedication. Don’t let anyone put you down or say that you cant succeed. Its only you and yourself.

Take action now!
